About this work
This chromolithographic print is a humorous panorama of country produce turned into canned goods, with scenes of fishing for sardines and salmon, chickens running from canned fowl, a woman harvesting canned beans in a garden, and dairy workers handling crates of cheese, butter and milk cans. It was made by Samuel Ehrhart in 1906 and is held in the PDX collection.
