About this work
A colored lithographic print by Samuel Ehrhart, titled In the merry month of May and dated 1905, shows caricatured figures dancing around a maypole wrapped in long ribbons. Among the dancers are a man holding a document labeled Lease and Hard Terms, a moving van, and bills fluttering through the air, while a musician with a lute sits in the meadow at left.
