About this work
A colored lithographic print titled "A dangerous brew" by Samuel Ehrhart, dated 1904. A large black cauldron labeled "UNIONISM" sits over a fire, while two cloaked figures stir it with long poles, one banded "MITCHELL" and the other "GOMPERS." Rising from the brew are pale spectral figures and vapors inscribed with words such as "Boycott," "Riot," "Mob Violence," "Intimidation," "Anarchy," "Graft" and "Parkism."
