About this work
A colored political cartoon shows a bronze equestrian statue labeled Frederick the Great mounted on a wheeled base, pushed by a helmeted soldier in a Prussian-style uniform. On the right, a seated Uncle Sam in a star-spangled coat rests beside the domed Capitol while a small figure draped in a flag-striped shawl labeled Cassandra Stephens gestures toward the statue. The print is by John Samuel Pughe, dated 1902.
