About this work
This hand-colored political cartoon by Bernhard Gillam, dated 1885, shows a tailor's shop labeled Cleveland's Clothing Establishment where men in suits fit and alter garments. A figure in an old-fashioned blue costume stands before a mirror, while signs on the walls and garments carry labels such as Reform Styles and Old Records.
