About this work
A lithographic political cartoon by Victor Gillam, published in Judge in 1899, shows an oversized caricature of McKinley digging a canal across a map of the Americas. Cargo ships labeled American goods sail through the Pacific and Atlantic oceans while Uncle Sam hands him tools from the Capitol.
