About this work
A hand-colored allegorical map shows a landscape of rivers, mountains, castles and roads labeled with moral virtues and vices, centered on a large wooden cross atop Mount Calvary. A fiery pit on the right and a crown of glory at the top frame the journey. The 1847 print by E.B. & E.C. Kellogg is titled An Illustrative Map of Human Life, Deduced from Passages in Sacred Writ.
