About this work

This chromolithographic print, titled Their New Jerusalem and dated 1892, is credited to Grant Hamilton. It shows a central well-dressed man in a top hat and striped trousers beside a Broadway street lined with business signs, while a sunlit western scene on the left contrasts with a line of burdened travelers crossing the Atlantic Ocean on the right. Printed text at the bottom comments on Jewish immigration to New York in 1892.
