About this work
A colored political cartoon shows Uncle Sam on a small landmass labeled U.S. launching a cannon marked Patriotism that sprays a stream of red and white stripes and stars over Cuba. Crowds of figures on the Cuban island scramble and fall beneath the shower, while a few raise their hats or flee. The print was published by Judge and is credited to Victor Gillam, dated 1898.
