About this museum
The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia was founded in 1922 by Albert C. Barnes. It holds one of the largest collections of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and early Modern painting, including many works by Renoir, Cézanne and Matisse. The works hang in the dense arrangements Barnes designed himself, mixed with furniture and metalwork. Artnap holds 716 works from the Barnes Foundation, 656 of them paintings, shown first. The best-represented painters here are Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Charles Demuth and Jules Pascin. Each artwork page shows the museum's record, the date and the licence statement.
Questions
Can I use these images?
Yes. The works are in the public domain or released by their museums for open use, so you can use them in personal and commercial projects. Each artwork page shows the museum and its licence statement.
Are these all the works at the Barnes Foundation?
No. These are the works that the Barnes Foundation has published as public domain images and that Artnap holds; the museum's own collection is larger.
How large are the images?
Most are about 2,500 pixels on the long side, or the museum's own size when its file is smaller. Artnap Pro members can also download the museum's full-resolution master file where one exists.
