About this work
A colour lithographic political cartoon shows a crowd of caricatured men crowded onto a raft tossed by rough waters, with logs labelled New Jersey, New York and Mass. A banner reads Democratic Record while a figure on the right points toward a distant capitol dome. The work is by Bernhard Gillam and dated 1883.
