About this work
A colored caricature shows a man with curly gray hair and a mustache bowing toward an audience at the edge of a stage, one hand extended outward. Books labeled Tramp Abroad, Innocents Abroad, and Huckleberry Finn fly through the air above him, and a laughing face appears at the lower right. Joseph Ferdinand Keppler created this print in 1885 under the title '‘Mark Twain,’ America's best humorist.'
