About this work
A chromolithographic advertisement shows a Victorian family gathered in a richly furnished interior, with children trying on and displaying shoes from boxes labeled Edwin C. Burt, New York. A small dog stands on its hind legs among the group, and the scene is framed by curtains, a bookcase, and a mirror. The print was made by Knapp & Co. in 1874.
