About this work
This etching shows a rural landscape with rolling hills, a cluster of trees in the foreground, and a tall church steeple rising among the buildings. Dense cross-hatching renders a heavy, turbulent sky above a field with a small wheelbarrow. The work is titled Woodstock, signed by Yasuo Kuniyoshi, and dated 1936, and bears the Federal Art Project NYC WPA credit line.
