About this work
A colored lithograph shows a cherub in a black coat and pink sash raising a hat beside a road, while a woman in a red jacket and plaid skirt rides a bicycle past a swirling wind of figures labeled with political names. A second rider in dark dress, marked 1897, follows behind, and the scene is framed by bare trees on the left and blooming trees and roses on the right. The work is signed by Samuel Ehrhart and dated 1898.
