About this work
A colored political cartoon by Udo Keppler, dated 1910, shows a richly robed figure labeled MONOPOLY, with dollar-sign hair ornaments, carving a feast laid on a table with a roast labeled ALASKA NATURAL RESOURCE. A poorly dressed homesteader kneels on the steps below with an axe and pickaxe, gesturing toward the banquet while being excluded from it. The print was published by The Puck Press.
