About this work
A woman in a black kimono with a turquoise obi stands beneath a blossoming tree as petals swirl through the air under a crescent moon. Her patterned robe with red and green bands spreads across the left side of the composition, and a pair of swords rests at her waist beside a woven hat. This Japanese woodblock print by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi is dated 1885-1892.
