About this work
A woodblock print by Ohara Koson, dated 1900 to 1930, shows a flowering hosta plant. Tall stems carry clusters of violet-purple blossoms above large, heart-shaped green leaves with fine parallel veining, set against a pale cream background with the artist's signature and seal in the corner.
