About this work
A Japanese print by Kamisaka Sekka, dated 1909-1910, shows a young figure in a pale green kimono with red and black floral patterns, reclining amid large stylized chrysanthemum blossoms rendered in pale yellow against a gold ground. The figure holds a round patterned fan and a slender red stick, while dark rounded forms, likely hair or a dark mass, fill the upper right. Green foliage and a dark rocky shape frame the left edge.
