About this work
A painted scene on silk shows a covered wooden boat on a river carrying several figures in patterned kimono, while a woman in a grey and brown robe leans over the bow. Blossoming cherry trees and a green pine stretch across the upper right, and smaller boats and figures fill the distance. This work by Teisai Hokuba is dated to the 1800s and is held by the Portland Art Museum.
