About this work
A woman in a striped and plaid kimono crouches on tidal flats, gathering shellfish into a basket while two figures wade in shallow channels behind her. Calligraphic poem text appears in the upper sky, and the seal and signature of Utagawa Kuniyoshi are visible in the margin.
