About this work
A Japanese woodblock print titled Temple Steps in Snow, attributed to Utagawa Hiroshige and dated to the 19th century. Snow falls over a winter scene with a torii gate and snow-laden pine trees in the foreground, tiled rooftops and a stone stairway, and a blue expanse of water with a small island and bridge in the distance. Figures with umbrellas walk through the snowy grounds.
