About this work
A Japanese woldblock print shows a woman in a black kimono kneeling and holding a baby wrapped in a red patterned robe against her shoulder, while a folding screen with grass motifs and a blue cloth stands behind her. A small inset panel at upper left depicts two figures working with a wooden tub, and a green patterned garment lies on the floor.
