About this work
A woodblock print shows a half-length figure in a black robe with a striped collar, set against a deep blue background scattered with falling petals. A red cartouche with black characters and a yellow artist's seal appear at the side, and a vertical inscription runs along the upper right. The work is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III), dated ca. 1807-1810.
