About this work
A woodblock print shows a seated kabuki actor in a patterned robe with crane motifs, holding a sword that rests against a screen, while an attendant kneels behind him. A wig stand and a lacquer table with cosmetic items stand in the foreground, and handwritten verse and red seals appear at the upper left.
