About this work
A woodblock print shows a kabuki actor in a red and teal patterned kimono, holding a sheathed sword in one hand and scattering gold coins from a blue vessel with the other. Black calligraphy panels and a sprig of violets fill the upper right, and the sheet is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated 1862.
