About this work
An engraved technical plate shows a Berline à deux Fonds, a ornate horse-drawn carriage, in side elevation with its rococo carved body, painted panels, and large spoked wheels. Smaller detail drawings of carriage components, a scale bar in feet, and a Paris publisher's imprint appear around the central image. The plate is attributed to Jean-Francois Chopard and dated 1740 to 1758.
