About this work
A woman in a striped kimono over a red under-robe stands barefoot before a hanging patterned silk curtain, holding a folded paper in her hands and a long pin between her teeth. Calligraphy in the upper right and a signature in the lower right accompany the figure against a graded dark ground. The print is credited to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated 1823-1827.
