About this work
An etching titled Le Flûteur by Lodewijk Schelfhout, dated 1918, shows a bare-chested man with closed eyes playing a flute while seated in a chair beside open sheet music. A stylized landscape with trees and hills and an ornate decorative panel fill the background, and the artist's signature and date appear in the lower left corner.
