About this work
A painted celestial chart shows a stylized dolphin, rendered in pale blue and coral red with a curled tail, set against a deep navy field marked with gold star symbols. The title Delphinus and the attribution to Johann Bayer, dated 1603, identify it as a constellation plate from the period's star atlas tradition.
