About this work
A painted celestial chart shows a dark bird, identified as a crow, perched on a white line that forms the constellation outline. Gold star symbols with glowing halos mark the stars, and a ruled band with degree markings runs across the top of the sheet. This hand-coloured star map is attributed to Johann Bayer and dated 1603.
