About this work
A hand-painted celestial chart shows a wreath of green ivy leaves and tendrils encircling a dark blue field of stars, with a second panel of stippled cream ground and scattered gold-rayed stars along a curving edge. The gold-ruled border and numbered degree markings frame the sky map.
