About this work
A hand-coloured celestial plate shows the constellation Capricorn as a goat with curling horns and a fish tail, set against a deep blue sky marked with gold-rimmed stars and thin white constellation lines. The figure is rendered in soft golden-brown fur and pinkish-green scales, with a faint striped band crossing the composition.
