About this work
A hand-coloured celestial chart shows the constellation Canis Minor as a brown dog walking across a dark blue sky, with gold star symbols marking its stars. A pale band of the Milky Way runs diagonally across the field, and a striped blue border lines the top edge. The print is attributed to Johann Bayer and dated 1624.
