About this work
A hand-colored engraved diagram of the Tychonic cosmological system, showing the Earth at center with the Sun, Moon and planets orbiting in concentric circles within a ring of zodiac signs. Cherubs hold draped banners at the top corners, and scholars with globes and an armillary sphere are shown at the lower corners. The print is attributed to Andreas Cellarius and dated 1660.
