This hand-colored woodcut shows the coat of arms of Philip, Landgrave of Hesse, with a shield of quartered fields bearing lions and stars under a crown and helmets. An inscription above the shield names Philip as Landgrave of Hesse, Count of Catzenelnbogen, Dietz, Ziegenhain and Nidda.
