About this work
A double-page ink and light color wash sketch shows three seated figures around a sheet of brushed calligraphy in the foreground. One figure in dark robes gazes sideways, while a bald figure in a loose gray robe leans forward over the writing and a third figure in pale blue sits upright at the right. The work is attributed to Kawanabe Kyōsai and dated to the 1800s.
