About this work
A colorful satirical lithograph titled Rivista aerostatica, published in 1878 by Augusto Grossi, shows a fleet of hot air balloons carrying caricatured figures and national symbols. A large elephant floats among the balloons, while labeled envelopes, a parrot, and a cannon drift through the scene. The composition uses exaggerated humor and bold color to depict the political drama of the period.
