About this work
A hand-colored satirical print titled Incontro diplomatico / Rencontre diplomatique, by Augusto Grossi, dated 1879. Two exaggerated male figures, one in a green coat and one in red, meet in mid-air while riding rockets above a village of red-roofed houses. Star-shaped figures with faces fill a teal sky, and long-nosed onlookers peer from windows and rooftops.
