About this work
This chart from the School and Family Charts series shows the Spencerian style of letters, with lowercase and uppercase alphabets and numerals in flowing cursive. Above the script, small hand-colored illustrations depict everyday objects and animals paired with their written words, such as cap, dog, drum, pear, hen, and owl. The sheet is titled No. IX. Writing and was issued by Marcius Willson in 1890.
