About this work
A colored lithographic cartoon by John Samuel Pughe, dated 1902, shows a smiling trust magnate in a dollar-patterned suit shaking hands with a man holding a document labeled U.S. Gold Brick Stock inside a Daily Boom editorial room. Outside, a large Daily Boom Bulletin sign reading U.S. Gold Brick Stock, Sure to Go Up! draws an eager crowd of top-hatted men and rushing brokers' clerks.
