About this work
A colored caricature print titled The European Partingtons, dated 1902 and attributed to John Samuel Pughe. Personified nations, shown as caricatured figures in old-fashioned dress, sweep at the shoreline with brooms while a large wave bearing the words American Commerce rolls in behind them.
