About this work
A colored political caricature shows a large figure standing on the White House steps as a line of top-hatted mourners in black follow a horse-drawn hearse toward the Capitol dome. The hearse is labeled "Calamity Cry Killed by Business Revival," and the mourners wear name tags, one reading "Reed."
