About this work
A colour lithographic cartoon shows a group of top-hatted financiers sprawled over a deflating pink airship labelled "High Finance," with banners reading "Steel Trust," "Ship Building Trust" and "Northern Securities" under a sky of storm clouds marked Investigation, Merger, Decision and Law. The 1904 print by John Samuel Pughe, titled "Another air-ship failure," uses this caricature to satirise corporate trusts and their legal troubles.
