A chromolithographic cartoon by John Samuel Pughe, dated 1902, shows a figure labeled Roosevelt riding a galloping horse and swinging a lasso toward a herd of cattle. The cattle are tagged with labels such as High Protectionist, Senatorial Pledge Breaker and Beet Sugar Senator, and they run toward an arched gate reading Reciprocity Corral. A smaller figure labeled Palma watches from the right.
