About this work
A colored political cartoon shows a group of men in turbans and exotic costume riding a camel labeled Reorganization across a sandy desert toward an oasis marked Sane Democracy. A man in green robes leads the camel by its rope while a figure in yellow robes labeled Hearst pushes from behind, and the sand beneath is inscribed with the word Desert. The work is by John Samuel Pughe and dates to 1904.
