About this work
A colored lithographic caricature shows a cabinet of officials seated around a long table with a golden calf statue at the center, under portraits labeled Midas and Croesus. The figures are drawn as exaggerated caricatures, with labels such as John, Ryan and Lawson visible on their clothing, and an 'Interest Table' sign hangs on the wall. The work is dated 1905 and attributed to John Samuel Pughe.
