About this work
A colored lithograph shows a multi-story building labeled Tenement at the base, with pale ghostly figures and a skeleton playing a violin rising from its windows into a dark sky. Caricatured faces and draped spectral forms surround the central figure, and a row of city rooftops lines the lower edge. The work is dated 1901 and is credited to Udo Keppler, published by Keppler & Schwarzmann.
