About this work

A colored political cartoon shows a large sleeping figure in classical armor, with a plumed helmet and sword resting on a rock. Three men in period dress, one in a white uniform with a pickelhaube-style helmet, one in a blue coat and striped trousers, and one in an orange coat, stand around it gesturing and whispering as if trying not to wake it. The work is a print by Udo Keppler from 1903, held in the PDX collection.
