About this work
A standing woman with a white face and an updo of black hair wears a vermilion robe patterned with white blossoms over blue, yellow, and purple striped hakama. Her hands hold the fabric, and a sash in muted teal and olive sits at her waist. Japanese calligraphy appears in the upper right corner. The print is attributed to Shimizu Seifū and dated 1913, from the series Unai no tomo, plate 237.
